Sarah and Brian

Hello! We are Sarah, Brian and James. We are very grateful that you are getting to know us as you think about what comes next for you and your child.

Our lives have been shaped by the welcome and generosity of our family and friends, and this is at the heart of how we try to live our married life as well. After the winding path of infertility, we paused and discerned an openness to adoption.

When we adopted our son James in 2023, our whole world expanded. James is a ball of sunshine, and we are grateful every day to be a family. We have learned so much about the complexity and beauty of an open adoption alongside his birth family and we know that we will all be learning together forever.

We work hard to have a home full of faith, celebration and loved ones. We met and fell in love here in Chicago and were married in 2019. Our deep, local roots mean that almost everyone lives nearby! James is growing up surrounded by his grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. We know that we are so blessed to have such a strong support system and constantly full dinner table. We look forward to adding another little one into this loving mix.

Right now, a snapshot of our lives involves a lot of long family walks with our dog, mornings at the park and library down the street and dancing around our kitchen. We are deeply committed to a loving home where our children can grow up to be authentically themselves.
