Nozomi, Lauren & Chi Chi

About Us

• We are Nozomi, Lauren, and Chiharu “Chi Chi.”  Thank you for taking some time to get to know us.  We are excited to grow our family through adoption and are a loving family who want to share that love with another child.  We’re grateful you are considering our family as you plan for your future.

How We Met

• We met in 2015 and started dating.  We married in 2018 and had our daughter Chi Chi in 2019.  We are a multi-national mixed race family that embraces differences and would provide a loving, supportive, and diverse home for your child.

Meet Lauren

• Lauren grew up in Wisconsin in a house in the woods and has one younger brother.  She moved to Chicago for college, graduated law school in 2012, and works as a health care attorney.  She loves being a mother and is excited to adopt and share her love with another child.

Meet Nozomi

• Nozomi grew up in Tokyo, Japan and has one younger sister.  He moved to the United States for college and works as a physicist.  He loves cooking and making people laugh.  He is an avid marathon runner and a devoted dad.

Meet Chiharu “Chi Chi”

• Chi Chi is a fun and energetic first-grader.  Chi Chi loves hanging out and traveling with her three American and two Japanese cousins, playing hockey, playing piano, learning new things, and dancing.

Travel

• We vacation with friends and family many times a year, and are lucky to be able to spend time with Nozomi’s sister’s family frequently in Japan.  We have traveled together to Japan, Hawaii, Dubai, and India, and we frequently visit friends in both New York and San Diego.

Family Activities

• We also enjoy doing fun activities together.  We frequently go to the zoo, the beach, and live performances like broadway shows and Disney on Ice.  Some of the things we do together on the weekend are attending kids ice hockey practices, Japanese language classes, and spending time with family.

Diversity & Openness

• As a mutli-national and mixed-race family, we are committed to providing a diverse and international upbringing for a child who joins our family through adoption.  Our local school and community embrace diversity and mixed race families.
• We are supportive of open adoption and are open to contact by calls, emails, visits, facetime, etc.  We are flexible and want to make a plan that everyone is happy with.
