Adoption and Infertility – LIVE WEBINAR

March 6 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

NEW CLASS ALERT –

Approximately 80 percent of all couples who become adoptive parents struggled with infertility. Infertility can feel like a betrayal of our bodies. Disappointment, loss, and shame are common experiences for those experiencing infertility. Infertility is a loss and one that needs to be adequately grieved. It’s a life experience that feels like it is our natural given right.  This lecture will address the grief of the adoptive parents who experienced infertility and how it can impact parenting the adopted child. The adopted child and the birth parent are grieving as well and how the grief on all points of the triad interfaces will be explored in this presentation.  Sara Forsythe Menna is a licensed clinical social worker who has been in private practice for over twenty years. She has worked within the school system as a school social worker and as a private therapist to children and couples. Currently she is in private practice on the north side of Chicago where she sees individuals and couples. (saramenna.com) She is an adoptive mother and has a specialty in adoption and infertility.
